THE BEST SUPERHERO FILM EVER MADE
That is according to CHUD who has posted this:
Those are some fighting words, aren’t they? Sure they are, for a good reason.
We’re protective of the films we love. Especially ones based on pulp we read during the years that shaped our personalities. Then there’s the fierce loyalty between the DC crowd and the Marvel crowd. The Spider-Man crowd and the Batman crowd. The Burton crowd and the Raimi crowd. The Christopher Reeve and the Dean Ca…. nevermind.
I saw X-Men 2 (No, I won’t call it X-Men United any more than I’ll call my wife Werewolf Nuts McGimilee) and unless I had some out of body experience where aliens probed me like a post The Cutting Edge D.B. Sweeney, I’m going on the record saying that I think it’s the best superhero film ever made.
My full review’s a click away but before you click let me tell you one thing:
I don’t give a damn if people disagree once they see the film this weekend, but I do give a damn if I get blamed for raising their expectations too high. I love how some folks get all up in arms when we fall head over heels for a film (Equilibrium, The Fellowship of the Ring, even The Sum of all Fears) and then give us hell for being so gung-ho. Look, we call it how we see it. We’re all adults (well, physically). We all have different paridigms about what makes a good film. To some the glass is half empty, others half full, and a few folks (a lot of whom are vocal on the Internet) the glass is shattered all over your mother’s jugular. Relax. This isn’t science. It’s opinion. With that in mind… I’m right so deal with it.
