“Knights of the Old Republic” Breaks Xbox Sales Record

LucasArts’ Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic for the Xbox has flown off store shelves at light speed, selling more than 270,000 units in its first two weeks of availability. The game, which launched July 16, set a new record for Xbox game sales, selling through its initial allocation in its first four days of release.

Developed by BioWare, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic features an original story set some 4,000 years prior to the timeframe of the Star Wars films. The era in which the game takes place is dominated by an epic conflict between the Jedi and the evil Sith.

DailyGame is deeply entrenched in this fantastic game and will have a full review in the coming week. In the meantime, rest assured that Knights of the Old Republic is hands-down the best Xbox game to release this year, and perhaps the best game on any platform so far in 2003.
