Cleese Enters State of ‘Will & Grace’
“Will & Grace” has added yet another guest star to its glutted celebrity carousel. John Cleese, whose career has become an endless string of vocal and physical cameos on the big and small screen, is that special guest star. Gentle reader, try to contain your shock at this turn of events.
To his credit, Cleese’s appearance on the Emmy-winning NBC comedy marks more than a mere cameo. He will appear in a six episode arch playing Lestor Finster. The character is — take a deep breath — the father of Karen Walker’s (Megan Mullally) late husband’s mistress Lorraine Finster (Minnie Driver). Naturally.
Driver will also return to the show for at least six episodes. Lorraine, of course, attempted to kill Karen at the end of last season, but things may get more complicated this year when Karen and Lestor begin to feel the first sparks of new love.
