“Halo” for Windows Hits Stores Today
A little Xbox game called Halo is making its way into PC owners’ hands today, as Halo for Windows hits retail stores in North America for $49.99. Unlike its Xbox cousin, Halo for Windows supports online multiplayer (competitive and cooperative) and keyboard/mouse controls.
In addition to supporting up to 16 players online in a single game, Halo for Windows features new weapons and six new multiplayer maps, as well as new playable vehicles, including the all-new Rocket Launcher Warthog and the flying Banshee (the latter was only playable in single- and two-player co-op missions in Halo for Xbox).
Expecting a large online turnout, Microsoft has established dedicated servers for online play. Halo for Windows also supports LAN play.
