Xbox 2 Update – MS Developing Alternative System Software

Its been a few days since our last next-generation story (shocking no?), but in rounding off the news this afternoon, it seems Xbox 2 has taken the next-generation spotlight. Albeit not exactly the most riveting piece of Xbox 2 news (when compared to some of our previous stories), it appears Microsoft is hiring on Software Development Engineers to work on alternative system software architecture for Xbox 2. While it isn’t clear as to what sort of “alternative system software” is the focus of the position it, when considering the custom Operating System and anti-piracy measures, begs the question: just what kind of a system will Xbox 2 be?
