CLAREMONT TALKS EXCALIBUR VOL. 2
Returning Uncanny X-Men writer Chris Claremont recently provided more details about the upcoming relaunch of Excalibur in the latest issue of Wizard: The Comics Magazine (#149).
Set to launch in May, Claremont will be joined on the new series by X-Treme X-Men artist Igor Kordey. The new Excalibur will reportedly spin out of writer Grant Morrison’s final New X-Men story arc, and will focus on Professor X.
“What it allows me to do is something I’ve wanted for awhile: move Xavier to center stage,” Claremont told the magazine. “And Excalibur is Charlie’s book. This is the core book.”
Excalibur will also count Archangel amongst its cast members.
Claremont also touched briefly on his return to Uncanny X-Men in May, revealing that Storm, Sage, and Bishop would be making the jump from X-Treme X-Men when it ends with issue #46 in April.
