Call of Duty is looking for Map Masters
Today, Activision kicked off its Call of Duty Mapmaker Competition, which will award the best fan-made levels for its best-selling WWII shooter. Through March 26, aspiring mapmakers can download the level-editing toolset and can submit levels on the official Call of Duty Web site. Entries will be judged by a panel of developers from Infinity Ward, the Activision-owned studio that created Call of Duty. Additionally, all nonfinalist entrants will be able to have their maps judged online in a “Vote for the Best of the Rest” contest on www.planetcallofduty.com. The deadline for registration is March 20.
On April 9, three grand prize winners will be announced on the Call of Duty Web site. Each will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to Infinity Ward’s Los Angeles studio and will receive an Asylum GeForce FX 5950 Ultra-based graphics card. Additionally, the winners’ maps may be included in future Call of Duty titles. For more details, rules, and regulations, march over to the official Call of Duty Web site.
