Ridiculous way of combating unsecured WiFi access

I just read a article and I swear I looked at the date to make sure it wasn’t an April fools joke. Seems some idiot over ZDNet wants to equip police cars with WiFi detectors that will pinpoint unsecured wireless access points and then give people citations to force them to secure their Wifi equipment.

It has to be a joke because It is beyond me how that article made it through the editorial chop chain. Someone smack this guy in the head and say what the heck where you thinking about. [ZDNet]
