Actually, there’ll be two stars, Dan Smith and Steve McDonagh , who survived a number of kitchen challenges throughout a series of one-hour specials under the title “Next Food Network Star.”

Smith and McDonagh, who jointly own the Hearty Boys Caterers and the HB restaurant in Chicago, will get their own six-episode cooking series on Food NetworkFood Network as a result of the victory, to begin Sept. 18. Producer of the challenge specials was CBS EYE Too Prods.
