StarCraft Ghost

Being human is an everyday experience. Which is why we were excited to play as the zerg during some hands-on time with StarCraft: Ghost multiplayer. We tried out an invasion map, where each side tries to destroy the other’s base.

Starting out as a zergling, you don’t have any ranged attacks, but you can move really fast, so it’s easy to dart up to your opponents and take them out with your claws. A good team tactic is to group with other zerglings against an enemy, which should come as no surprise to fans of the original StarCraft (in fact, “zerg rush” has become an accepted term in Blizzard games to describe attacking en masse).

One of the neat aspects of Ghost’s multiplayer is the ability to spend points (which you earn from kills and base captures) to upgrade to a higher-level unit. Zergs “mutate” to higher-level units at any time, while terrans have to wait until they die. Zerg mutations include classic units like the hydralisk, infested marine, and mutalisk.
