‘World War Hulk’ Finishes Strong

World War Hulk finished its five issue run with a flourish, selling over 145,000 copies in comic stores in November, only a couple of points off sales on the fourth issue of the title. Other titles at the top of the list were also from Marvel, with seven Marvel titles posting sales over 100,000 copies (World War Hulk #5, Astonishing X-Men #23, New Avengers #36, Thor #4, Uncanny X-Men #492, Incredible Hulk #111, and Sensational Spider-Man #41).

DC’s All Star Batman and Robin, the Boy Wonder #8, at roughly 97,000, and Dark Horse’s Buffy the Vampire Slayer, at around 92,000, rounded out the top ten titles in comic stores in November.

Marvel had 16 of the top 25 titles, DC had eight and Dark Horse had one.

In fairly typical fashion, sales on 17 of the top 25 titles were down in November. In less typical fashion, there was only one new launch, Batman and the Outsiders #1, in the top 25 comic titles in November.

DC’s Heroes hardcover topped the graphic novel lists, with a very strong 26,000 copy sale. League of Extraordinary Gentlemen: Black Dossier also sold over 20,000 copies in comic stores in November. And coming in at the fifth position was 52 Vol. 4 TP with a little over 7,500 copies sold.

Marvel’s Dark Tower: The Gunslinger Born was the top Marvel graphic novel, at over 13,000 copies sold. The Marvel Encyclopedia Vol. 4: Spider-Man HC followed with over 8,500 copies sold.
