Intel Net Rises, Margins Hold up and Shares Climb

Intel posts solid third-quarter number but the worlds largest supplier of processors for desktops, notebooks and servers offered a more cautious outlook for the fourth quarter as the financial crisis and U.S. credit crunch continue. Intel also announced that it would trim its capital spending.

- SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - Technology bellwether Intel Corp posted a 12 percent rise in third-quarter profit and said current quarter revenue could come in lighter than expected amid uncertain demand, but the outlook was better than feared, sending its shares higher.
