Players Drawn Away By Age of Conan and Warhammer Going Back To WoW

Strike Age of Conan and Warhammer Online from the list of massively multiplayer games with the potential to dethrone World of WarCraft. It looks like just the promise of Wrath of the Lich King has been more than enough to draw in the fans that had drifted away.

According to Edge Online, Blizzard president Mike Morhaime was more than happy to tout numbers during an earnings call that showed Warhammer and Age of Conan fans coming back in droves. Much of it can be attributed to the upcoming Wrath of the Lich King, which is seeing strong pre-order numbers at both Wal-Mart and Amazon.

“To date, 68 percent of the players who listed Age of Conan as their reason for cancellation, and 46 percent of players who listed Warhammer as their reason for cancellation have reactivated their subscriptions to World of Warcraft,” Morhaime said.
