Blockbuster Hires Firm For Bankruptcy Advice

Despite the fact that Blockbuster has only recently decided to start renting video games online, it now seems that the company may have to file for bankruptcy. Not admitting anything, the corporation has contacted bankruptcy specialists Kirkland & Ellis, to help them explore options which may include pre-arranged bankruptcy, which means the company can restructure outside of court. The company is planning to fun its own operations throughout 2009 after two of its credit facilities expire in August. Another company that may end up gone because of the economy? Time will tell.
