People Have Misjudged The Wii, Says Industry Execs

A group of industry execs have all spoken out to support their claim that people have misjudged the Wii console, and its audience. Red Octane, Electronic Arts, and 2K Games, all supported this claim at the recent MI6 Marketing Conference in San Francisco. Apparently none of the companies predicted that the Wii would "come on so strong." It took them all a bit too long to realize it was going to be a force to be reckoned with. The Wii was ignored by these major houses when it first launched, and because of this they missed out on early sales. They are also still coming to grips with the audience demographic that the Wii mainly caters to. It is not made up of enthusiast gamers, but more casual gamers and families who get together a few times a week, if that, to play. The entire gaming landscape is changing, and the Wii is, at least in part, responsible.
