‘Buffy’ Movie Remake?
Vertigo Entertainment is working with rights owner and original feature director Fran Rubel Kuzui on a remake of the 1992 Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie, according to Hollywood Reporter. The new film would not use characters developed for the TV shows, but would instead be a remake or relaunch of the original film. Whedon has not been involved to date.
The 1992 film was written by Joss Whedon, who went on to create the Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel TV series. The cast was quite a list, including Kristy Swanson (as Buffy), Donald Sutherland, Paul Reubens, Hilary Swank, Rutger Hauer, Luke Perry, David Arquette, and more.
