Blizzard Says The Plan To Return To Console Development
The producer of World of Warcraft, J. Allen Brack, has stated that Blizzard will definitely return to making console games at “some point in the future.” The last time Blizzard worked on a console was the ill-fated Starcraft Ghost, which never saw release, despite being developed for years and shifted to several different platform. The last successful console release was almost 15 years ago now. Brack said that Blizzard is not “anti-console,” as many have surmised, they just happened to be so successfully focused on PC right now, that it takes up all their time. Does this mean we can expect one of the Blizzard MMOs on a home console? No word on that, but it is more than likely that Starcraft II will make a console appearance, along with Diablo III, before any MMO. Come on Blizzard, don’t leave us console guys out in the cold.
