New York, NY—June 26th, 2015—Marvel’s mightiest are back! The title that brought together the female powerhouses of the Marvel Universe has returned in an all-new series! Willow Wilson (Ms. Marvel, X-Men), and artist Jorge Molina (All-New X-Men, Thor), the premier female leads of the Marvel Universe must team up to tackle a mysterious new villain that not only threatens the lives of everyone A-Force holds dear, but also the very fabric of reality.
So who is the mysterious Singularity? Where is she from? And how will she pull our band of heroes together? “Readers first became acquainted with Singularity during our blockbuster summer event SECRET WARS,” says series editor Daniel Ketchum. “At the conclusion of SECRET WARS, Singularity will arrive in the new Marvel Universe. And when she discovers that its fate is hanging in the balance, she will summon A-Force to her side to battle a threat the likes of which they’ve never seen.”
With the world in danger, the call is made – A-FORCE ASSEMBLE! This November, the heroes and villains of the Marvel Universe stand on the edge of a knife, and the world faces annihilation in AVENGERS & X-MEN: AXIS #5! Blockbuster writer Rick Remender is joined by chart-topping artist Terry Dodson as Act II: Inversion gives rise to a new world DISORDER! Heroes will be broken, eyes will be opened, and a universe will tilt on its AXIS.
Splintered and alienated, the forces of Avengers and X-Men stand on opposing sides. The Red Skull has been released from his holding cell in Avengers Tower. Someone aided him. Someone who was present on Genosha. But whom? And why are the heroes and villains acting so strangely?
Narrowly escaping with their lives, Spider-Man and Nova are enlisted by Steve Rogers for a daring mission that could determine the fate of us all. The new Sorceress Supreme finally gains her revenge against the benevolent Doctor Doom. The Superior Iron Man battles Daredevil for the fate of an Extremis infected San Francisco. And in the name of survival of the fittest, the X-Men claim their new home.
This October, it all comes crashing down. Today, Marvel is proud to present your first look inside AVENGERS & X-MEN: AXIS #3, the next blockbuster chapter in the premier comics event of the fall. Superstar creators Rick Remender and Leinil Yu present your first look at the apocalyptic conclusion to Act I: The Red Supremacy as teams splinter, hearts are broken, and the fragile alliance of A and X shatters once more!
Though they now stand united against a common foe, their fragile alliance is not enough to stem the darkness. Coupled with the powers of Charles Xavier, the Red Skull’s terror knows no bounds. Battered and broken, the few surviving heroes must put their faith in unlikely allies, and give rise to the most vile syndicate known to man. Can the Red Skull be defeated? And at what cost? Would you destroy the Red Skull if it meant losing the very last piece of Charles Xavier?
As one of the last remaining heroes, the Scarlet Witch is forced to join forces with Dr. Doom – the man who twisted and abused her power to cause M-Day. If she can’t, she’ll have to watch those she loves most die. And a twist of fate will return one of the Marvel Universe’s greatest villains from beyond.
The world as we know it is gone. The Inversion is here. Don’t miss AVENGERS & X-MEN: AXIS #3 on sale in October!
Dynamite Entertainment has announced a new miniseries that will chronicle the death of Captain Apollo in the original Battlestar Galactica series continuity, launching in December.
The series will be written by Dan Abnett (Guardians of the Galaxy, Nova, The Legion), with art by Dietrich Smith (Army of Darkness, Battlestar Galactica), and covers by Smith, Livio Ramondelli, Mike Mayhew, and a subscription variant by Ardian Syaf.
Captain Apollo was the central character of the original 1978 Battlestar Galacticaseries, but after it ended in 1979, Apollo did not return for the sequel series Galactica 1980, which was set several years in the future. It was implied in the dialog that the hero starfighter pilot had died in the intervening years, but his fate was never overtly detailed. This series will now fill in those gaps.
