It would seem that next week’ [8/13/2014] will have about 99% of the comics that were shorted from this week’ [8/6/2014] and then the other 1% will show up over the next two weeks.
Why Not This Week?:
Dear Diamond Customer:
As posted on the Retailer Services Website, Diamond performed a necessary upgrade to the logistics software that manages its hub operations in the Olive Branch Distribution Center on July 26 and 27.
Unfortunately, some issues have arisen that did not present themselves during our extensive testing. These issues have impacted the processing of Direct Ship Reorders placed after July 25 and Reship Reorders that would have been picked and packed this week for delivery with product on sale August 13.
Please be advised that Reship Reorders will be delayed by at least one week, and Direct Ship Reorders will be delayed by one or more days.
While Diamond’s Logistics and IT staffs are working alongside specialists from the company’s software consultants to address the issues, it has not yet been determined when reorder shipping will return to its normal schedule. Diamond Daily and the website will provide updates as more information becomes available.
Diamond apologizes for the inconvenience, and thanks you for your patience as we work to resolve these issues. If you have additional questions regarding this advisory, please contact your Diamond Retailer Services Representative. Thank you.
Dear Diamond Customer:
Diamond Comic Distributors’ Olive Branch Distribution Center and IT staffs, along with our software consultants, are making good progress in addressing issues that came to light following a planned software and hardware upgrade at the facility. We first advised you of these issues via email on July 29.
“Despite the challenges we encountered due to issues that didn’t arise in numerous tests, most Direct Ship Reorders will be shipped this week,” says Diamond’s Olive Branch Executive Director Shawn Hamrick. “As we move into the week of August 4, every effort will be made to ship Direct Ship Reorders by the end of the day if they are placed before the appropriate cutoff time.
“I should remind our customers that this is never guaranteed,” Hamrick said, “and it may take an additional day or more as we work through the backlog created during this disruption.
“Everyone here at the Distribution Center deeply appreciates the patience of our customers,” Hamrick added, “as we do all that we can to get back on our normal schedules.”
Occupant Entertainment and Deep Silver, the video game publishing label of Koch Media, announced today they are partnering to package, produce and finance a screen adaption of the popular hit video game franchise “Dead Island®”. Occupant plans to attach a filmmaker and fast track the project for a production start in Q1 of 2015.
Set on a tropical island resort, Dead Island revolves around a Zombie outbreak and has become one of the most-successful new video game IP’s in the last few years, selling over 8 million copies worldwide across all platforms.
“Deep Silver has created a highly successful game franchise based on very cinematic, widely viewed and well received trailers, which provide a great template for launching a film franchise with a distinctive and commercial take on the zombie apocalypse”, says Occupant partners Joe Neurauter and Felipe Marino.
“The Dead Island universe offers a rich and unique setting that can expand beyond the pure gaming experience. We are very much looking forward to seeing Dead Island open up to new audiences and showing off the fun everybody at Deep Silver has with this brand”, says Dr. Klemens Kundratitz, CEO Koch Media.
Maintaining the franchise position as a worldwide phenomenon thanks to its iconic trailers, the latest installment of the Dead Island 2 trailer has made a strong start with over ten million views on YouTube since its reveal in June. The Dead Island 2 trailer managed to become an instant classic as did its famous predecessor back in 2011. Watch the Dead Island 2 trailer here.

As some of you might know by now [because you got emails letting you that your comic are here] , is that the comics arrived, they have been processed and are not on the new comic book rack. For the next couple of weeks, the emails and pull lists might be a little off because of how the pull software and the invoicing works.
So, sorry ahead of time and thanks for being patience with us through this.
It seems that Activision considers World of Warcraft a "risk".
The company yesterday filed its Annual Fiscal Report in which it listed the game in the ‘Risk Factor’ section:
‘Future increased consumer acceptance and increases in the availability such games or other online games, or technological advances in online game software or the Internet, could result in a decline in platform-based software and negatively impact sales of our console and hand-held products. Newer technological advances in online game software may also render products such as World of Warcraft obsolete.
Quite a statement from the company that has dominated the MMO space for so many years.
An Xbox Live Arcade version of id software’s 1994 shooter Doom II: Hell on Earth is being shown on the floor at QuakeCon, expected to be officially announced later today.
A whole new episode will be included, along with all of Doom 2’s original content. Four-player split-screen multiplayer will be available in addition to online play.
Neither release date nor price are currently known for the port, which is being handled by Doom XBLA porter Nerve Software.
